I love to help people find and develop their own musical voice. I enjoy teaching because it is an opportunity to work with people and help them find what they are looking for in music. Teaching is about relationships and what I have learned from my great teachers is to constantly listen for interests and motivates a student. I strive to give my students an experience of their own inspiration, growth and achievement.
I’ve been teaching music professionally since 1998, offering private lessons and teaching classes at the After School program at School of the Future in Manhattan. I draw on my early education as a saxophonist, several years as a self-taught guitarist, five years of formal study with master guitarist and teacher, Robert Newton, my 20 years of experience on stage as a leader and sideman, and my relationship with great musicians and teachers such as Madeline Bruser, J. GA. Granelli and Nels Cline.
I wish you well and may all sounds be good sounds…
Bryan
